Sunday 28 August 2011 While most of South Africa dossed, the dream tour woke up to perfect 10 foot barrels detonating on Teahupo'o reef. The first ride of Round 3 was a perfect 10 pointer, then drama unfolded in the third heat when two Saffa boys were forced to face off. Paul van Jaarsveld reports.

Sunday 28 August 2011 Metallica once sang “Am I Evil?” and on this day, a dark and angry Chopes oozed pure evil. Nasty menacing mutants detonating over the razor sharp reef in super sized conditions. Devouring most and spitting the lucky few out. Hell hath no fury like Teahupo’o in 15-20ft conditions.

Tuesday 23 August 2011 A 48-year-old Plettenberg Bay surfer, Tim van Heerden, has died after an unknown shark bit him at Keurbooms River Mouth at Lookout Beach, this morning, according to reports on Twitter and to an earlier communication by the NSRI.
