World FreeDive Record
Friday 21 January 2010 Last month at Dean's Blue Hole, Bahamas, William Trubridge dived a breathtaking (sorry) 100 metres without assistance (fins, wires, oxygen tanks) on one lung-ful of air to break the world record. Supporters bought a metre of the 100m rope to save the Hector's Dolphin, of which only 100 remain. They are found only in New Zealand, in shallow waters putting them at the mercy of gill-net fishing.
