Friday 21 November 2014 Kobus Oeschger is an olympian who represented South Africa at the wheel chair basketball 2012 Paralympics. He decided to visit Afriski for the 2014 winter season and he just blew us all away. After just 1 day of learning how to use the special ski, designed for those who are physically disabled, he was skiing down our intermediate slope completely on his own. It was absolutely amazing to have Kobus Oeschger visit our resort and we open our arms to more of you out there who are in his position. . Thursday 20 November 2014 This is a short portrait on a local skater, Byron Rhoda. I plan to make many more of these short profiles of the local skateboarders. Just as each skater has his/her own style so should each portrait have it's own individual treatment, theme and style. Some with story and some just pure skating. The need also to make these short profiles are to help local skateboarders with a short promo piece to showcase their own style and skills, something short stylish and punchy. Because, as we know, promotion and support on a financial basis is next to non-existent for skaters in SA, compared to Europe and the US that is. Although this is the product of asking a hell of a lot of favours and partly self-funded, physical production budgets are hard to come by, so actual support to get gear for more shoots would help loads to carry this idea forward. . Thursday 20 November 2014 At the beginning of this year Bianca Buitendag called me and asked if I would be interested in filming her and Johanne Defay traveling Australia and surfing a few events there, you know me, if it involves travel - I'm there. The only thing is that I was lost for a story, something different and gripping; I didn't just want to make a stock standard surfing film with some surfing, tits&ass and some music -- Bianca and Johanne agreed, so together we decided to wing it. After experimenting with full post by myself for once not just the edit I learned a ton, but also got pretty attached to this piece. .
