Workers Weekend Wipe

Wednesday 2 May 2018 Stuart Fowles fell on this wave two days ago but was fine. Little did he know that a quick paddle at Dungeons later would end his winter. Grant Scholtz shot this sequence of the first wipe.

"Had a good few of those on those lefts (above). I didn’t hurt myself at all there though! Tried to stick a late drop at Dungeons and buckled my knee. It was about an hour before dark," he told Wavescape.

Stuart, who hails from East London, was on his way to Hout Bay where they had launched from, and decided to hook a few at Dungeons. An hour before nightfall and his winter was done, with a cricked neck and a torn MCL.

"1 x free fall down the mineshaft, 6 on the head, blown neck, blown knee ... See ya next winter! Was short lived? Kudos to the pioneers... They couldn’t have been correct in the head!" - Stuart on Instagram yesterday.
