Wave Ski Champs
Monday 25 May 2015 If you thought waveski riding had died, think again. The South African Waveski Championships will be held at Jongensfontein, near Stilbaai, from the 13 to 15 June this year. Photos Dan Prata.

The contest will potentially be moved to Stilbaai point (or other local spots) if the surf is unfavourable at the designated break. The beaches have been booked for the three days inclusive. As a closed competition, waveski riders will need to confirm with their provisional representatives to determine if they meet competition criteria.

With a great winter swell predicted, with Jongensfontein having a superb right reef break, and with a sport filled with world class riders and strong provisional rivalry, this years competition is surely going to prove be a year to be remembered.
Here's looking forward to pristine conditions, great surf, big aerials, radical cut backs, and innovative surfing. The competition will be tough, the surf epic, and the atmosphere chilled. Great views from the beach for spectators and competitors alike. Braai's and camaraderie a given.
