Swell Chase

Friday 25 March 2011 A crew checked the charts and went on a swell chase to Madagascar, and scored pristine Flameballs and a new righthand pointbreak (Saturday 12 to 19 March). A sponsored content item by True Blue Surf Travel.

I saw this little swell coming and timed it perfectly with picking up and using our new and faster surf boat. It all worked out perfectly.

True Blue sent out a mailer for last minute swell chase and we had one or two lucky takers. Boy did they score… Ryan , and Mark had session s out there that were more than fairy tale. We scored a new Right hand point, that may never have been surfed. Tucked in a bay, and behind a reef, it peeled and rapped perfectly in all tides. We scored a day here, with two 4 hour sessions, trading wave for wave and rotating till our arms almost fell off. What a day!

Flameballs did its thing for 3 days at 4 to 6 feet. Again it was just us in the lineup, and it was barrel for barrel and wave for wave…..

Its just a blurr for me now and both Ryan and Mark were so spent form riding more waves in  5 days, then they would ever ride anywhere else. Oh, and it was 26 degree water, 30 degree days, and glassy almost each day.

Didn`t see another surfer for the week except my old Mad Ozzie Mate Maggot at the airport when we both left.
