Show Down!
Fri 23 November 2012 The Kom Surf Showdown is faced with pouring morning rain, pumping west winds and heaving 10' open ocean seas, which should make it interesting, says Rod Torr, the organiser.

The Kom Surf Showdown takes place at Long Beach today. Part of the Kommetjie Festival over both days this weekend, a whacky collective of surfing detritus - read surfers - will congregate to vie for a number of titles, including the most entertaining ride, craziest craft and most outlandish garb.
Long Beach could be a little tricky, but that will just add to the whackiness all round
The weather improves in the afternoon, the festival also runs Sunday. It includes 16 bands, stalls, crayfish derby, fun run, skateboard displays. Go to www.kommetjie.org for details.
