Shortcuts Winners
Wednesday 11 December 2013 The winner of the Wavescape Shortcuts video contest, presented by BOS and GoPro, has been announced. Congrats to the filmmakers who scoop 30k in prizes, including GoPro Hero HD cams, a BOS surfboard, cash and BOS product.
We received 45 entries in total, and ranked each film out of 10 in the categories "Gees" (the tone and feeling that the video creates), "Craft" (the way the story unfolds, how well the message is crafted, the integration of music and how it fits into theme) and "Technical" (editing, sound, videography), and then weighted the Facebook likes.
It was a very difficult process, with a lot of toing and froing amongst the judges, intense debates and consultation with our GoPro panel. We eventually emerged with the winners (better late than never), and also decided that the third prize should be shared after the combined results were too close to call.
Look out for full HD versions of the movies to be screened at the Wavescape Film Festival.
