Shark Bumps Surfer
Monday 30 May 2011 The NSRI has issued a shark warning after a Cape Town surfer was bumped by a great white shark while surfing the Wreck in Plettenberg Bay on Sunday afternoon.

National Sea Rescue Institute spokesman Craig Lambinon has warned paddlers, surfers and swimmers to be cautious when entering the water along this stretch of coast.
According to Lambinon, Clinton Nelson, 33, from Kommetjie, and a friend, Matt Luckman, 29, were surfing at the end of Robberg Beach about 30 metres off-shore. While there were waiting for the next set, a 4-5 metre white shark appeared and "nudged" Nelson's surfboard three or four times. Both surfers rode a wave to shore and neither were injured,. They reported the incident to sea rescue authorities.
NSRI Plettenberg Bay station commander, Ray Farnha, has confirmed that a white shark was spotted in the area during a sea rescue recently.
