MFeb For the Love
Friday 19 June 2015 Mfeb has come up with a unique project to support the Waves for Change surfing therapy programme by collaborating with 19 top SA surf photographers. The result? A full colour coffee table book.
Mikey February is not just one of the best surfers South Africa has seen for a while, he is also an ambassador for Waves for Change, an organisation that uses surfing as a tool for therapy and upliftment amongst young adults from Cape Town's townships.
Mfeb - as he is better known by all his friends and Instagram followers - has been working behind the scenes over the last few months with 19 top South African surf photographers, media publishers, graphic designers and the crew at Waves for Change to put together a coffee table book.
The photographers have generously donated unseen photographs for the book, proceeds of which will go to Waves for Change.
The photographers are Alan Van Gysen, Alex Mcgeown, Anthony Fox, Daniel Grebe, Claire Butler, Dougal Patterson, Grant Scholtz, Greg Ewing, Ian Thurtell, Kody Mcgregor, Louis Wulff, Luke Patterson, Morne Laubscher, Robbie Irlam, Ryan Janssens, Sacha Specker, Seth Phitdes, Tao Farren, and Tyler Walker.
Launched on Youth Day 16 June, Mfeb said that “Given the significance of Youth Day and the particular impact the W4C program is having on the young people in our grass-roots communities - launching the For The Love initiative on Youth Day seems like the best day to really celebrate the importance of this project”.
