The tow-out final was tough as a fresh offshore wind came up. But McCarthy and Sacha Specker wouldn't be slowed down, timing each jump perfectly and flying higher and higher each time.

Both Dylans were left playing catch-up for most of the heat. When the final buzzer went, McCarthy was in front, followed by Spex second, Dylan van Tonder third and Dylan le Roux fourth.

McCarthy has now got three Kumba West Coast Classic titles, and this year, takes home a grand prize of R20,000 for impressive 12-foot backflips.

Storm Prestwich and Dylan Le Roux performed the "Move of the Contest," Specker won the Drop-Knee division, and Skye Bothma conquered the Ladies category. Tristan Roberts took the Junior trophy.
