Jordy Does Nightshift
Tuesday 5 January 2010 Cape Town - Seven surfers have been invited to join Jordy Smith for Red Bull Nightshift in Camps Bay here on Sunday.

The event, a night surfing session with tow-assist from jetskis, is being run to celebrate an incredible year on the World Tour for Jordy, who led the World Tour ratings for part of the year, and also won his maiden World Tour event, the Billabong Pro Jeffrey's Bay, before finishing second on the ratings at year end.
The event will consist of surfers getting towed behind the jetskis into waves in such a way that they'll be able to project into the sky on their boards and perform high-risk aerial moves. An extra twist is the fact that the event will take place after sunset, under floodlights.
Set to take place this Sunday evening at Camps Bay Beach, the event will begin at 7PM and continue into the night. Exciting news is that there is a light wind predicted, a welcome respite from the south-easter that has been blowing endlessly this summer. There is also rumours of a new swell filtering through during the course of the evening.
Joining Jordy are: Craig Anderson, Damien Fahrenfort, Ricky Basnett, Travis Logie, Rudy Palmboom, Warwick Wright and Royden Bryson.
"I'm super excited to be going down to Cape Town for Red Bull Nightshift," said Durban's Travis Logie. "I can't believe that someone hasn't done something like this before. There's going to be heaps of people down there, and I reckon it's going to be loads of fun."
The eight surfers comprise the best competitive surfers as well as the best aerial surfers in the country, joined by the dynamic and innovative Craig Anderson from Australia. With this sort of talent around, combined with the jetskis, there is going to be some extraordinary surfing taking place on Sunday evening under the spotlights at Camps Bay.
