Tough conditions prevail, with strong rips and testing surf, in event 8 of 10 on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP Women’s World Championship Tour. The Roxy Pro France recommences this season’s hunt for the world surfing crown with Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS), Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) and Carissa Moore (HAW) leading the pack.
The opening round will hit the water at 8:15am local time.“We have good surf on offer this morning and Round 1 will commence at 8:15am,” Jessi Miley-Dyer, ASP Women’s Commissioner, said.
“We’ll continue to monitor conditions throughout the morning, but have placed Rounds 2 and 3 on standby for a possible start as well. Good luck to all our competitors today.”
Up first this morning will be Malia Manuel (HAW), Dimity Stoyle (AUS) and Pauline Ado (FRA) in the opening heat of Round 1.
Surfline, official forecasters for the Roxy Pro France, are calling for: WNW swell to continue through the end of the week. Reinforcing swell due for the weekend, continuing into Monday of next week.
