Thousands of people are expected to head to J-Bay from the 10 to 20 July for a range of cultural and sports events that herald a mega-bash of disparate recreational activities that unify under one umbrella.

Points of interest have got to be the music festival www.jbaywinterfest.com/music-fest/; the surfing www.jbaywinterfest.com/open-of-surfing/; and the downhill sokkie skating jol www.jbaywinterfest.com/downhill-sokkie-jol/

JBay Mountain Bike Open  www.jbaywinterfest.com/mtb-open/ has already opened up entries, and will be taking place on the second weekend of the festival, on the 19th July. The #JBayMTB takes place on a purpose-built track and will include 20km, 40km,  60km and 85km events comprising a range of new features, jumps, single track and berms - something for everyone, including beginners, trail, x country and marathon riders.

The waves have been good the last few weeks, giving early arrivals in the JBay Open ASP World Tour event a taste of what's to come. With Kelly Slater, Jordy Smith, John John Florence and Gabriel Medina lined up, this event promises to be world class on all levels. Our very own Dylan Lightfoot will enter the fray as a wildcard, graduating from the JBU Supertrial presented by RVCA event that was run at Supertubes recently.
