EL Shark Fundraiser
Friday 5 August 2011 If you are in the East London region this weekend, then pay attention. As you probably know, Denver Struwig was attacked by a shark while surfing with his friends at Chintsa Beach on 22 July 2011. See report. Fortunately he lived to tell the tale, and in true Slummies style, Denver and his mates will now be throwing a fundraiser party to cover medical bills and also create a fund to assist shark attack victims.
Country Bumpkin Restaurant will be hosting a fundraising dinner for the Denver Struwig Shark Fund on Saturday 6th August. (That´s tomorrow!)
The event will be hosted by Greg Emslie and Denver Struwig himself. Dinner will be served from 18:30 with the prize draw at 20:30.
Costs are R 150 per person for the dinner and all proceedings goes to the fund. In addition 25% of the bar sales will go to the fund. You can book directly with Country Bumpkin on (042) 738 5226.
For those who cannot make it to the dinner, everybody is welcome to attend the 20:30 Prize Draw, and you can start your evening at Michaela´s of Chinsta or Barefoot Café and they will donate 40% of their D-Day bar takings to the fund.
