The event is FREE and open to all members of the public; the evening will get underway at 6:30pm at the centre's event arena. The two and a half hour show will be staged to celebrate the opening of the new flagship Boardriders store and is presented by Quiksilver, Roxy and DC Shoes.

Born-and-raised Durban band City Bowl Mizers have been performing as a group for over eight years, they have had singles at number two on the 5FM International Top 40 and have hit the road relentlessly, for over seven years, embarking on multiple national tours and a six month stint in the UK.

They are excited to be included in the lineup, "We're super pumped to be involved in Saturday Night Sounds, we love playing in Cape Town and seeing as though it's free to the public it's sure to be a party! See you there" said the bands guitar player Matt Reardon.

Joining City Bowl Mizers and The Ard Matthews Affair at the event will be the wildly colourful and interesting Gazelle. The duo of Nick Mattews & Xander Ferreira have been known for their theatrical performances on stage by turning traditional African music on its head by mixing it with a fusion of funk, disco and electro.

Their sound is a mix of synth-pop, natural rhythms and a wicked baseline. Their spectacular stage performance is not to be missed. "We have spent a lot of time on the road and we're very excited to be back on home soil playing to our home crowd, the event at Canal Walk should be a good one, so we hope to see it full up as it's going to be a blast," said Nick Matthews from Gazelle.        

The event kicks off at 18:30 with the introduction of the human beatboxer "Drumkit" and will be followed by the three bands. There will also be product give-aways and in-store promotional offers. After the show, guests are invited to come hang out with the band members and check out the latest summer product in the all-new Boardriders store.
