Death by Selfie
Saturday 26 September 2015 Selfies have killed more people than sharks this year, according to reports. Twelve people have apparently died while taking photographs of themselves, while eight have died from shark bite.

A story on www.sciencealert.com says that "at least 12 people have been killed in selfie-related incidents so far in 2015 and many more injured, while only eight have died as a result of shark attacks."
Selfies account for some gruesome deaths in the insatiable quest for social media glory, with people risking their lives while clambering up towers, and mountains, dangling off cliffs, or waving guns around.
The article included the case of two men in the Urals, who "were killed while taking a selfie of themselves holding a hand grenade with the pin pulled out (the photo survived as proof), and a teenager died in May while climbing on a bridge to take a photo".
"Other deaths have been caused by distracted photo-takers falling off cliffs, crashing their cars, being hit by trains, and even shooting themselves while posing with guns."
According to a story on Aljezeera, Russia has even released a Safe Selfie guide to try and minimise death by selfie.
