Coronavirus Novel - Episode 5
Tuesday 19 May 2020 Tasked with planting a virus on Earth to klap its pesky inhabitants into a carthartic wakeup call, the mystic Atman has a ethical panic attack about being the bearer of disease and death.
While Poynton defiantly flouts Lockdown’s draconian strictures, Atman and Compost are unwillingly sucked down the plughole of egregious complicity. Shew bru. The cartoonist can even name drop words longer than my minimal!
Attie’s ethical meltdown may taste at first like brave resistance, but sadly, mostly, our puny actions are well, puny. The inevitable Wheel of Fate grinds through its sordid arc according to laws beyond the ken of men and press-ganged astral beings, who just want to surf waves freed from the fetid maw of the pustulating state.
That the Road to Ruin is paved with good intentions 'tis often said. But what isn’t said enough is that the Road to Ruinous Culpability is often paved with last-minute acts of desperate hope. Now Read On!
