"Basically, I have found that a lot of people are nervous to take the next step in their surfing, especially when it comes to riding bigger waves," the 2009 Mavericks Invitational winner said.
"Whether fear, or a lack of fitness or confidence, people have obstacles that prevent them from fulfilling their potential. So I figured I would share some of my insights to people."
The workshops - on 24 July and 11 August) highlights the essential elements you need to tame mother nature with reference to the big wave beasts of the world, including Mavericks, Dungeons and Maui.
Bertish claims that the workshop "will equip you with the knowledge and information needed to make more informed, comfortable and confident decisions when tackling bigger surf thus allowing one to understand their capabilities and upping “their game”.
The workshop covers everything you need to from ocean observation, dangers, swell, breathing technique, preparation, planning, training, mindset and equipment.
Bertish intends to show you how to be confident, prepared and focused when tackling bigger waves.
He says the course is aimed at people who are "thinking of taking their surfing to another level or simply would like to feel more comfortable in bigger surf".
