The Surf Challenge is an open surfing event, and everyone is catered for, from the young U14 Girls and U14 Boys, to the U20 Girls and U20 Boys, as well as the Open Division, which will be competing for the Industry Cup. There is R74,000 in prize money, with the winner of the Open Division receiving R15,000.
When
The event is set to run from 28 - 30 April. This is normally a good time for surf in Jeffrey's Bay, and the contest organisers are obviously hoping for firing surf.
Where
The venue for the BloodScan Surf Challenge and Industry Cup is The Point, Jeffrey's Bay. "It has been a privilege that we are in a position to sponsor these exciting events and bring such an amazing line up to J-Bay." says BloodScan's Lewis Khoury. "BloodScan is in its second year of being involved with surfing, and I am personally so stoked with the results that this is having for us and the surfers we interact with. I am looking forward to the upcoming Challenge in J-Bay."
Why
The Bloodscan Surf Challenge is an open surfing event in a time when surf contests are quite few and far between. Bloodscan is proud to be involved with a sport like surfing, and have promised continued and growing support in the future. The event will be raising much-needed funds for the Supertubes Surfing Foundation. The Foundation has been preserving the waves and beaches of Jeffrey’s Bay since 1999
