Axel Irons born on Day 1 at Pipe

Thursday 9 December 2010 Day One of the Billabong Pipeline Masters will go down in surfing history, not for results, but for a simple symbol of rebirth in the face of death: in the early hours on the island Kauai, the son of Andy Irons was born. Andrew Axel Irons was born to Lyndie Irons, widow of three time ASP World Champ. Bruce Irons, Andy's boet, was there before flying to the North Shore to surf his wildcard slot.
