White Pipe Trick Brings Gold

Fri, 19 February 2010

This video shows the insane private half pipe custom built in the mountains for Shaun White last year, helping him scoop an incredible gold medal at the Winter Olympics at Whistler in British Columbia last night. White reached new heights, literally, after Red Bull built him a half pipe in a remote powdery corner of Colorado where he perfected the Double McTwist 1260 (a mutant trick entailing three half twists while spinning head over heels twice - click here to see him doing it). He added this to his repertoire of double cork 1080s and other crazy spins and airs.

The regular footer who lives within a stone's throw of the legendary North Shore wave, showcased his deep skill set at Backdoor and Pipe in glassy, low tide conditions, leveraging his local knowledge into his third victory at this event and a $16,000 payday.
