KellySlaterFirewireWhile everyone is crowding out the spot in 6-8ft surf today, someone who downloads the app could win a Fire Slater Design Gamma Surfboard (R8999), a Vissla North Seas wetsuit (R5488), a Firewire Slater Design Traction Pad (R550), a Firewire Slater Design Leash (R490), for a total value of R15,000. Just look for the JBayWinterfest app on the relevant Play Store for your phone (make sure its one word). Visit jbaywinterfest.com/community/ for more info.

This year the JBay Winterfest is a cashless event, and all transactions will be done with a Howler wristband. When you download the free JBay Winterfest app you automatically get your Howler wristband free, instead of having to purchase one for R10. Apart all of that, and the surfing and music gigs, local businesses have climbed on board for a variety of special deals for fans attending to the JBay Winterfest and Corona JBay Open.

The restaurant also hosts the Winterfest Comedy Festival (2-16 July), wth Barry Hilton, Melt Sieberhagen, Gino Fabbri and Brendon Peel. They also offer live music on Sundays.

JBay Bru Co are celebrating by offering a free 500ml Durban Poison Cannabis Lager when you buy one of their famous Bru Burgers. Infood Coffee Roastery are offering a Winterfest Brew Cappucino, and the Coffee Society has a Winterfest Special of a fresh juice and bagel combo.

Country Feeling are joining the celebrations with a free leash and deckpad if you buy a surfboard. The popular JBay Surf Village Market on 13 July has a range of Winterfest specials by vendors.
