Day 6 of the Mr Price Pro down at Ballito saw the wrap of very successful contest that proved hotter than Durbans most fiery bunny chow. Jordy fell in the semi’s, the surf went from perfect to manky, but that didn’t put a damper on things. When all was said and done, Patrick Gudauskas from the USA was crowned the King of the hill for 2011.

Friday, Day 5 of the Mr Price Pro down at Ballito saw some of the best surf ever to be hosted in a contest on South African shores. Solid 8-12ft waves threw gapping pits for anyone willing to take them on. Photos of this momentous day by Justin Klusner and Kelly Cestari.

Big Wednesday

Day 3 of the Mr Price Pro awoke to the thunder of solid 8ft sets unloading over the Ballito sandbar. As the day wore on the boys were separated from the men in  testing gnarly conditions. So far this contest is proving to be as explosive as a hot Durban curry the morning after.

Ballito Showdown

Day 2 at the Mr Price Pro. The winds had shifted direction and the sublime perfection of day 1 down at Ballito was a fond memory. The waves still pumped though and the young guns of the ASP tour went all out to prove their worth.

Whip my boogie

Justin Klusner hooks up with a couple of nutter boogers and their Jet Ski pilot down the coast and far from the shark nets. Between passing shoals of sardines they get whipped into the waves and learn to fly. Safer up there than in the water I guess.
