![]() The Drifter: Rob Machado Fact FileThe annual Wavescapes Surf Film Festival - presented by the Save Our Seas Foundation - takes place in Cape Town between 2 and 20 December. Wavescapes opens with a Surf Art Exhibition featuring surfboards by acclaimed artists such as Brett Murray, Konradski, Andre Trantaal and Sue Opperman. It runs December 2 to 9 at trendy eaterie Depasco Cafe, followed by a gala art auction with comedian Mark Sampson on December 9. Proceeds go to NSRI and Shark Spotters. The opening film of Wavescapes takes place under the stars at Clifton Fourth Beach 9pm Friday December 11. It is free. A week of films follows at the Labia Cinema on Orange Street (two shows daily, 6 and 8pm) and Brass Bell in Kalk Bay (9pm). Cost is R25 a ticket. The Clifton screening is on Friday 11th December, and we are screening The Present. Thereafter all films will be shown at the Brass Bell in K Bay from 13-16 and then at the Labia from 17-20 December.
Shane, programs are out and available at your local surf shops, the Labia, Depasco cafe and the Brass Bell. You'll also see them floating around cool venues in CT.
