The sixth Wavescapes Surf Film Festival screens 16 films in 22 slots with two extra shows of the Drifter, making for a total of surf films showing 24 times. In the tradition of the surf film, many are short, making for a double bill, while feature length films get a solo slot.

We present the synopses of all 15 films (with a photo and link to a video teaser) to be screened at the Wavescapes Surf Film Festival starting 2 December, kicking off with the classic Thomas Campbell film The Present at Clifton Fourth Beach 9pm Friday 11 December (the art exhibition runs at Depasco Cafe from the 2nd to the 7th, when a special charity auction takes place). Thousands Enjoy Durbs fest

Thousands of Durbanites flocked to the fifth Wavescapes Surf FIlm Festival to see 20 screenings of 11 surf films. At a star-studded ceremony put on by the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) at Moyo in Durban at the end of the festival, a special award was given to Musica Surfica, the classic Australian-made flick with a classical edge.
