Do you remember the movie Filthy Habits? If you do, you're either old or have a fantastic memory, because most modern groms would look at you squif if you mentioned it, which is a pity because Filthy Habits was an iconic surf film of the 80's that shifted the definition of what a surf film is. Bring on Still Filthy!
This film should be viewed in HD.

Made in 1988, it was one of the surf movies that changed the genre of surf films inexplicably with its raw and fast pace, serving up portion after portion of (then) cutting edge surfing with good music edited cleanly in. Some say that the segment-based surf film formula came to be in that film.
So all these years later, Billabong and its band of super-surfers have done it again with Still Filthy. It's a no nonsense, high intensity surf film which attacks the viewer with crazy barrels and the innovative airs time and again as it speeds through a respectable line up of Billabong surfers.
The official premier took placer as spring seeped into summer, October something 2009, at Cape Town's Labia Cinema, where all the industry cats got together to drink beer and eat pizza, before sitting down to a wave feast. There was hooting in the cinema, which is likely to happen when drunk surfers converge en masse, and almost everyone gave a cheer for the SA boys that were featured. There was a great little section of Shaun Joubert busting fat airs as well as Dooma pulling into a certified monster barrel.
The film is an amper, and as soon as I sat down to watch the intro, I desperately wanted to stroke into a perfect 6 foot bomb and get pitted.
Still Filthy will be showing at this years Wavescapes Film Festival, so keep a look out for further details.
