INDIES SURF SPOTS :: KANDUI

This wave was made famous during the 2001 OP Pro when Shane Dorian said “What do you call a heat where every single surfer got the three best waves of their life?” It is super fast and super hollow and likes a SW swell and a mid to pushing tide. From take off to kick out (if you are lucky) it is a constant drive down the line, a never-ending pump from one barrel section to the next. No cut backs allowed!

Kandui is extremely changeable depending on the tide, swell size and direction. With a high tide and head high swell  it is a fun wave for most surfers, a great place to practice your barrel riding skills. But when it is twice overhead it is not a wave for the faint hearted. One ten second barrel here will have you smiling for months afterwards.
