INDIES SURF SPOTS :: HOLLOW TREES

This consistent right hand peak is one of Kelly Slater’s favorite waves. It’s also the favorite wave of 1000’s of other surfers!

Hollow Trees or Lances Right as it was formerly known has been featured in countless magazines and surf movies and it deserves every bit of credit. When it is small it consists of 3 shifting peaks which can cause impatient surfers to criss-cross the reef as they chase the peak. When it gets double to three times overhead the 3 peaks join as one long wave which just barrels and barrels and barrels and then spits you out into a perfectly formed channel where all your mates are hooting form one of our 3 tenders.

But its not over yet! After the barrel section you step into one of the longest hardest round house cutbacks you’ve ever done… Now paddle back out and do it again. At low tide the inside reef starts to show itself, which is why it is nicknamed “The Surgeons Table”.
