WHERE AND WHEN
Charters are named after their date of departure i.e. the “31 March charter” or the “15 May charter”. The above schedule is specifically designed to fit with Silk Air (Singapore Airlines) who fly direct from Singapore to Padang (our port of departure and arrival) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
You will go straight to the boat from the airport. We will arrange to have you picked up and dropped off at the airport.

WIVES AND GIRLFRIENDS
The Indies Explorer offers 10 private cabins, of which 5 have double beds, specifically for those surfers who wish to bring their wives or girlfriends. The Indies Explorer is not a cramped yacht. It is a sailing ship where space translates into luxury and privacy.

MEDICAL INSURANCE
Each passenger must purchase travel and evacuation insurance prior to arrival.

EXTRA EXPENSES
* Alcohol, beers and soda supplied at ships prices on board.
* Personal travel and evacuation insurance prior to arrival.
* Hotel accommodation in Padang (if required).
* Special medication such as anti malaria.

IF YOU DON’T SURF
Fishing: Catch Tuna, Wahoo and Spanish Mackerel with our fishing rods and tackle or use a hand line to catch bottom fish or squid. Snorkelling: Every island has a unique underwater landscape, waiting to be explored. In the interest of your comfort we suggest you bring your own mask and fins (or use one of the sets on board.) Spear fishing: Tasty reef fish or big pelagics: If you are a serious  spearfisherman, bring your own gear, or use the boat’s equipment. Navigating and steering: We will teach you how to plot a course on the chart and if you are interested you can join the skipper during a cruise watch. Sailing: Learn to sail this traditional gaff rigged ketch Beach combing: One of the crew will take you ashore to explore the islands! Kayaking: Explore the lagoons and estuaries with our 2 person sea-kayak. Beach barbeques: Join us ashore for a fish barbeque. Beach activities: Baseball, cricket, soccer, beach bats and volleyball. You choose! Siberut Island jungle treks: Arrange with our crew at little extra cost. Tender: During all of the above activities we will assist you where necessary with one of two zodiacs.

FOOD AND DRINKS
We prepare 3 hearty meals per day. Heaps of fruit, muesli, freshly baked bread every day, fresh fish (and sushi), pizza, lasagne, vegetarian dishes and a variety of Eastern and Western meals. Bottled water is free but passengers pay ship’s prices for beers and soft drinks.

TO SECURE YOUR BOOKING
A 25% deposit will secure your booking. The balance of 75% is payable 60 days prior to departure. If you book within 60 days of departure, the whole amount is required to secure your charter. There is a great demand for the high surf season, so secure your booking to avoid disappointment. If you cancel, your deposit will not be refunded, but it is transferable up to 60 days prior to departure. Failure to pay the balance of 75% within 60 days will result in loss of booking dates and deposit. Monies are wired to Citibank, Singapore.

INDIVIDUAL BOOKINGS

VISAS
Clients must arrange their own visas well in advance. Check with your embassy whether you require a visa.

HEALTH
Notify us of any special medical condition that you may have. We recommend vaccinations for typhoid and hepatitis. Take precautionary medication for Malaria.

WAIVER
The Indies Explorer or its crew accepts no liability for any surfer whilst on board or en route to the boat.

SPENDING MONEY
Bring US dollars cash in new 100 dollar bills. Traveller cheques are not recommended as very few money changers in Padang will accept them and the rates are bad.
