The Poll

Would you put a Kulula sticker on your stick if it went free?

The Atlantic is flat and freezing, The False Bay is a bowl of frothy wrath. It’s been like this for weeks now and it’s not going away in a hurry. So in celebration of weeks of on-shore bliss the bodyboarders of the South Peninsula organised a one tide, limited entry contest: The Web-Lingo Barnacles Beatdown.

Barnacles is that insanely shallow wave directly in front of the Brass Bell tidal pool that, when ridden, keeps tourists and diners entertained for hours. Staying true to the Kalk Bay Shootout, it’s was a winner takes all, which saw Josh Kleve beat Josh Stanley in a thrilling final and walk away the 2010 Beatdown Champ and R1000 rand richer. Epic spot prizes were provided by the always supportive Sports Unlimited!
