Spot this Spot

spotspot-mayjune-2011

Tuesday 24 May 2011

This spot is connected to a famous family that represents historic South Africana. If you are able-bodied, nimble and skilled, you'll like this little reef slab on the stoep of a hotly contested historical site.

Spot the Spot Oct 2010

Friday 3 December 2010

The winner of the Lizzard Wavescape Spot the Spot Competition has been announced. The clue was quite logical really, but you have to live on, or surf along, the West Coast to get the reference to the early Dutch East India men who toiled in this hood.

Spot the Spot April 2011

Tuesday 24 May 2011

The winner of the Lizzard Wavescape Spot the Spot Competition has been announced. The clue was quite logical really, particularly if you know that East London's nickname is Slumtown and that you get a lot of sea urchins among the rocks at Nahoon Reef.

Quiksilver Pick of Sept

thumb_IMG_3142-siFriday 14 October 2010

We launched Wavescape 3 last month. There was blood, sweat and even a few tears. Bugs were found and Doom duly applied. That doesn’t mean the show shouldn't go on. Now that we are back on track, we pick up where we left off. Those photos that made it through the dodgy server and landed up in our inbox are presented as the finalists for September. In no particular order …

Thurs 10 June 2010

Quiksilver Pick of July

Tues 10 August 2010

The latest batch of entrants to the Quiksilver Pick of the month showed that July was a good month for surf in South Africa, with winter again delivering the goods in a way overseas ous could only but salivate for.

Quiksilver Pick of February

Thursday 11 March 2010

We at Wavescape take the responsibility of choosing winners very seriously. That’s why we deliberated bickered so much about the first winner of our new monthly competition, the Quiksilver Pick of the Month.

Spot the Spot June 2009

Emil Watson

June winner: Bruce from BW Architects
Spot: Blouberg

The Clue

Obviously the emphatic winners from another game with the word blue in it was the Blue Bulls. Hello. Blouberg? Yes, there are other spots with the word blue in them, such as Bluewater Bay. There was something about the way it broke, the colour of the water, and of course the strip of land in the background that pointed to the Cape Town version of blue.
