John Whittle, who heads up Surfing Heritage South Africa, chats with Neville Callenbourne, 71, the man who features in the first known photograph of a legitimate big wave in South Africa, taken at Cave Rock on 2 July 1966 during the South African Surfing Championships. The image has come to be one of our most iconic photos.
